ABOUT THE ARTISTS
Nina West
Nina West is the stage name of Andrew Levitt, an American drag queen, actor, and singer based in Columbus, Ohio. She rose to national prominence with her appearance on the RuPaul's Drag Race Season 11, where she placed sixth and won Miss Congeniality. In June 2019, New York magazine named West one of the top 100 Most Powerful Drag Queens in America.
West has been performing in central Ohio and around the United States for the last 18 years, doing regional theatre and of course, drag. As Nina West, she has produced over 35 main stage production shows and raised over two million dollars for local and national charities through her charitable fund The Nina West Foundation. In fact, there’s even a street in Columbus that was named after Levitt, called "The Nina West Way".
West hosts the annual "Heels of Horror" show at Axis Nightclub, and has also hosted the competition "So You Think You Can Drag?. In 2008, she won the Entertainer of the Year award, and was included in Columbus Business First's "40 Under 40" list in 2018.
‘Her sense of humor was evident from the start... What the “Instagram queens” had in looks, Nina had in performance and acting talent. She was hilarious, present, and the star of every scene.’ Nerds and Beyond
‘Nina won the hearts of Drag Race fans and judges alike.’ Entertainment Weekly
Thorgy Thor
Thorgy Thor is the stage name of Shane Galligan, an American drag queen and musician most known for competing on the eighth season of RuPaul's Drag Race and for returning on the third season of All Stars. She is also included in New York Magazine’s top 100 Most Powerful Drag Queens in America in June 2019.
After spending his early years studying Violin, Viola and Cello, this fashion clown earned a dual degree in Violin and Viola Performance. While studying at Hart School of Music and Purchase Conservatory, Thorgy also earned an honorary degree in Drag Ridiculousness, performing her original works of art entitled Maitri and Pocket to Pocket. Thor also starred in theater productions of Bad Splices and Psycho Beach Party.
Moving to Brooklyn in 2006, Thorgy Thor exploded in nightclubs, theater projects, street performances and photo series throughout Brooklyn and NYC. Her first drag performance was as Frank N. Furter from The Rocky Horror Show. A lover of vintage clothing, Thorgy co-created the first and only live drag auction called Alotta Stuff and has worked as a wardrobe stylist and prop stylist.
Being featured in Next Magazine as a break-out drag artist helped Thorgy work for almost every promoter, club and on every stage in NYC over the next few years. Thorgy has also had the pleasure of playing violin with many recording artists including NYC legend Joey Arias, as well as performing with over 6 major orchestras, gracing the stages of Town Hall NYC, Le Poisson Rouge, Lincoln Center and Carnegie Hall.
Thor uses unconventional recording materials and music to create unique performances for theater, video, cabaret, and for nightlife entertainment. An explosive performer who loves to lip-sync just as much as create collaborative performance art that mashes together drag, music and comedy. She has been awarded Best Brooklyn Drag Performer of the Year Odyssey Awards, Best Drag Performer of the Year Get Out Awards, Best Group Show of the Year Glam Award and LEGEND Award at the Brooklyn Nightlife Awards, among others.
So get ready to dress and glam up, be both frightening and fierce as HalloKween Drag Fest 2019 - featuring Nina West and Thorgy Thor - leaves you shook just in time for Halloween!
