The comedian has moved up a few notches since his YouTube glory days and is using his IIT-Bombay education, along with his knowledge of mathematics, language and life, to make jokes that have never been cracked before. He recently released his comedy special, Biswa Mast Aadmi, to rave reviews, with which he toured every pocket in India.
One of the most-followed comedians in the country, Biswa’s angry rant-styled delivery and his unique perspective turns every topic he touches into comedy gold, making audiences crack up instantly. The stand-up comedian, writer, actor, size-zero enthusiast and blogger, has done countless shows across all sorts of venues in the country and has managed to garner 14+ million views on YouTube. In his youth, Biswa studied in different schools across Odisha in light of the fact that his, who worked in State Bank of India (SBI), was frequently transferred. After graduation, Biswa moved to Bangalore and worked in software, graphic design, and advertising. Initially, he started performing as a stand-up comedian in Bangalore. It was during this time that he came in contact with Kanan Gill at an open mic event in 2013. Biswa soon received recognition and people started appreciating his work. He later left his job at Oracle to end up distinctly as a full-time comedian in 2014.
Biswa Kalyan Rath began doing stand-up comedy in 2015 and went on his first solo national tour, “Biswa In your face” in September 2015. He performed in various cities, including Pune, Bangalore, Mumbai, Kolkata and Hyderabad. In 2015, he hosted the Comedy Hunt along with AIB and other acclaimed comedians. He has been performing in all significant urban communities crosswise over India for more than two years now.
