LA Comedy Live is proud to present the debut Asia International Comedy Festival 2017. To be held over three days from the 8th to 10th September 2017, the comedy festival will feature internationally acclaimed comedians from Canada, USA, India, The Philippines & more!

The Asia International Comedy Festival (AICF) is not just for laughs. The festival holds a deeper message to promote diversity, acceptance when differences among people are being challenged in the world we are in today.

With the two major players in the media streaming market, Netflix and Amazon Prime Video introducing comedy to their line-up of online streaming entertainment, came a rising tide for comedy in Asia, and a demand for Asian comedians with Asian content. The Asia International Comedy Festival is a platform to curate and feature the up and coming comic talents.

Bert ‘THE MACHINE’ Kreischer is a standup comedian, who performs to sellout crowds across the US. Kreischer is also the host of US’s Trip Flip and Bert the Conqueror, and previously hosted Hurt Bert.  He is a regular guest on The Joe Rogan Experience and The Rachael Ray Show and has appeared on Late Night With David Letterman and Jimmy Kimmel Live.

Bert did not really dream of a career in comedy, but instead was catapulted straight to it. While spending his years studying at the Florida State University, he was featured on an article on Rolling Stone magazine, calling him “number one partier in the nation.” This article attracted attention towards him. Bert is known for his unique brand of comedy, which has managed to entertain people all across the world and reaffirmed his position as a master of the art of fun.

Mikey Bustos, is a Filipino singer, comedian, and YouTube sensation who gained a huge following because of his satirical Filipino culture and traditions tutorials. Mikey Bustos, made a name for himself after joining the Canadian Idol Singing competition and ranked 8th in the competition, becoming the first Filipino to make the top finals in any Idol show in any country. It opened doors for him in the entertainment industry with offers for front acts for big name stars.

His popular videos cover a wide range of topics including "Filipinism", Philippine English phonology and Filipino culture tutorials such as eating Balut (duck embryo), Filipino dining, Filipino courting and more. He also made a parody of "Born This Way" by Lady Gaga entitled "Pinoy This Way" and has many more based on various trending pop songs.

Kanan Gill is an Indian stand-up comedian and YouTuber who rose to fame with the YouTube series, ‘Pretentious Movie Reviews’ where he reviews flawed yesteryear Bollywood films in a hilarious manner.

A software engineer by profession, Gill has found unbelievable fame in a totally unrelated field. Even while working as a techie, his passion for comedy continued and he participated in a number of comedy competitions and won the Punchline Bangalore competition. Another win at the Comedy Store in Mumbai followed, giving Gill the confidence to quit his engineering job and focus entirely on developing his career as a comedian. As of May 2017, this hugely popular comic star had over 502k subscribers on his YouTube channel ‘Ok! Gill,’ 218k followers on his Instagram account and 691k followers on Twitter.

Shahar Hason


The A list of Israeli Comic, Shahar has been tackling the English stages of the World in recent years. Hason offers a fun, loving and honest perspective on many issues ranging from relationships to racism. He has been on the stand-up stage since the late 1990s and was a member of "Ma Kashar". He then performed at the Camel Comedy Club.  

In 2008, Hason began to participate in the "Laughter from Work" program on Channel 2, and on the Independence Day of that year, he won 11th place on Ynet's "Most Funny People in Israel" list.

Yohay Sponder


Yohay Sponder is a ridiculously funny comedian from Israel. He’s known to give audience a peek into his problems in the funniest way. Yohay speaks bluntly about relationships, marriage, sex, and other life routines. In recent years, Sponder has participated in many television and radio programs in Israel and around the world.

He currently serves a weekly stand-up comedy at Shai and Dror on non-stop radio and hosts a radio program in English with Shahar Hasson. In addition to his activities in Israel, Sponder has been practicing for a number of years a successful international career - behind him three tours in the US and in Europe.  He has appeared as a guest artists at the famous Laugh Factory in Los Angeles, was involved in the Free Fringe Festival in Edinburgh, Scotland and participated in 3 Stand-up programs in the U.S called West Coast Comedy.
